
Eating a healthy diet is essential for maintaining good physical and mental health. While it may be tempting to indulge in unhealthy foods (I know this all too well), the long-term effects of a poor diet can dramatically impact your quality of life. Let’s take a look at a few reasons why it’s so important to eat a healthy diet:
- Weight management: A healthy diet can help to maintain a healthy weight, while a diet high in unhealthy foods can contribute to weight gain and obesity. Being overweight or obese can increase the risk of developing serious health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Everyone has different levels of healthy weight but it’s clear that our diet has a gigantic impact on our health.

This may include incorporating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins into your meals, and limiting sugary drinks and processed foods. It’s an investment in your body that’s completely worth it – you only get one!
For me, a first big step in righting the diet ship was to cut out all the bad stuff – I cut out most sugar / candy (my sweet tooth will literally be the death of me) and started drinking so much more water. It often just takes that first step to start seeing progress and moving closer and closer to the thriving and shining lifestyle!
